FPW is reevaluating funding priorities under our GenOn Settlement Program Area. Until further notice we are not accepting new, unsolicited proposals.
Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds was named the benefactor of a 2011 settlement from GenOn–a coal-fired, electric power producer. This settlement resulted in $3.5M for projects within the Kiski-Conemaugh Basin. These funds continue FPW’s commitment to the watershed/basin, and as directed by the settlement decree and FPW’s Board are intended to leverage restoration dollars, and result in positive, basin restoration. As per the settlement decree, all funds must be committed, and projects completed before January 15, 2018.
Grants awarded will be posted, as timely as possible, to our grant transparency webpage. GenOn grantees are encouraged to work with our Rhiza Administrator, Gwen Johnson to enhance their project information. Our transparency project also provides a chronology of grant-making from our inception, and past grantees are also encouraged to enhance that project data in a similar manner.
